MacKenzie Botha
MacKenzie is 9 years old and a 4th grader at Clarkston Elementary. MacKenzie started racing quarter midgets when she was 5 years old. This year will be her 5th season racing. As all kids do, she started out in the rookie program. We got her into the MMRA Scholarship program to see if this was something MacKenzie would want to do more then just one season. Welp, would ya know that her family is comprised of drag racers, race car drivers, and muscle car enthusiasts. It was in her DNA to make her mark in the car world of racing. MacKenzie has gone from classes Red Rookie, to Blue Rookie to Jr Honda to Heavy Honda. Also, last year we started her in a 2nd class Jr Animal, now she is in Unrestricted Animal. This kid lives to race and play with her friends. This past racing banquet, MacKenzie was voted “MMRA Social Track Butterfly”. No matter where we are, home track or traveling our trailer seems to be the kids hangout area to play games, watch movies, of course snack time or even first aide. This year will also be her 3rd year competing in the Midwest Thunder races and her 5th year racing in our Quad City races.
MacKenzie has also helped with getting the word out about quarter midgets racing by volunteering to be in the Woodward Dream Cruise 2 years in a row, interviewed by Micky Rork of the Cruise’n News, Detroit Stem, M1 Concourse Vendor, Corvette Club hosted a car show at Everest Academy and we showcased her cars, along with showcasing her cars at the Autorama in 2024. Amongst other events, MacKenzie is very passionate about her race club.
We look forward to competing in more racing this year.
